Deleting your sheytoonak account
This page explains how to delete your sheytoonak account and exactly what happens to your data when you do. It applies to both the website and the sheytoonak mobile app.
How to delete your account
In the app. Open Settings, scroll to the bottom, and choose Delete account. You will be asked to confirm.
On the website. Sign in, then go to your account deletion page and confirm.
If you cannot sign in. Email [email protected] from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm it is you before we do anything.
If you have an active paid subscription, cancel it first — the app will tell you if this applies to you. Cancelling a subscription on its own does not delete your account.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account is immediate and permanent. There is no recovery period and no way to undo it. We remove:
- Your profile, including your prompts, preferences and location
- Every photo you uploaded — both the records and the image files themselves
- Your conversations and the messages in them
- Your likes, matches, favourites, passes and blocks, in both directions
- Who visited your profile and whose profiles you visited
- Your notifications, sessions and access tokens
- Your subscription records held by us, and any moderation reports attached to your account
What we cannot delete for you
Payments are handled by Stripe, Apple and Google rather than by us, and those companies keep their own transaction records to meet financial and tax rules. Deleting your sheytoonak account does not erase those, and we cannot delete them on your behalf. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, manage or cancel that subscription in your Apple or Google account settings.
Anonymous, aggregated statistics that cannot be traced back to you — such as counts used to keep the service running — are not personal data and are not removed.
